Delaware

HOMETOWN ZINE

The Hometown Zine features places that tell the story of where I grew up. Delaware is the second smallest state so living there I always felt as there was not much going on. Doing this project was an interesting way for me to highlight what places I enjoy, looking back on a feeling on nostalgia, and how I can translate the history of the state with my own experiences.

Photography —————————— 1/4
I wanted to include photos that I took of places I usually hung out and old family photos to represent how my point of view and how I remember Wilmington.

Typography —————————— 2/3
The H1 titles use the typeface Manicotti Regular, harkening back to the western type style popular in ninetheenth century US. It is bold and a little funky, which I felt like represented Wilmington's culture well. The other two type faces are Padyakke Expanded and Turnip; Padyakke pairs well with the Americana style and Turnip's subtle geometic lines accent the forms of Manicotti.
